The Affinity Groups Program supports communities of practice in areas of our departments and universities that are underserved by other regional, national, or professional associations. Affinity Groups support NWACC’s mission to foster communication and collaboration among members by providing a framework and encouragement for collaboration. Examples of Affinity Group activities include virtual meetings or webinars, communication and collaboration tools such as Google Groups and Slack, and web spaces for broader information sharing.
Current Affinity Groups
- Accessibility: The NorthWest Higher Education Accessibility Technology Group ––NWHeat –- is a collaboration between Orbis Cascade Alliance and NWACC to advance our common goal of ensuring that digital services, information systems, learning technologies, and instructional and scholarly resources are equitably accessible to all users.
- IT Customer Experience: The NWACC Customer Experience Affinity Group connects higher education organizations in the Pacific Northwest to improve customer experiences through collaboration. By exchanging best practices, success stories, and lessons learned, members are better positioned to address common challenges and enhance services for students, faculty, and staff. This affinity group targets service desk teams, customer experience and metrics teams, and product service teams.
