Greg Pitter has served as the Chief Information Officer at the University of Portland since 2022. His prior higher education IT background has included a variety of leadership positions at Portland Community College, Portland State University, and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
As a leader, Greg has focused on improving employee engagement, evolving the role of the CIO within the organization, and creating a more welcoming workplace for a diverse workforce, and has presented at the EDUCAUSE Annual Conference on these subjects. He has also spearheaded major projects in business process automation, identity and access management, and data governance.
Greg studied Math and Music as an undergraduate at Willamette University and holds Master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and the University of California Berkeley. He has a deep fondness for baking and enjoys bringing in his creations to share with his staff.
