Van Davis

Van is the executive director of WCET, the WICHE Cooperative for Educational Technologies, and WICHE’s vice president for digital learning. WCET is a membership organization that focuses on the intersection of digital learning policy, practice, and advocacy comprised of postsecondary institutions, state agencies, corporations, and non-profit organizations in all fifty states as well as Canada. Davis oversees all strategic and operational responsibilities of WCET’s membership, the State Authorization Network (SAN), and Every Learner Everywhere. As WICHE’s vice president for digital learning, he advises on all aspects of digital learning in the West with a special focus on areas such as institutional AI policy, the impact of federal regulations, and the role that digital learning can play in improving student access and success.

Van holds a Masters and PhD in 20th Century US history with an emphasis in civil rights from Vanderbilt University. Prior to joining WCET and WICHE, Davis served as principal at Foghlam Consulting, associate vice president at Blackboard Inc., director of innovation at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and a faculty member and academic administrator at several public and private universities with historically underrepresented student populations.
