The Pokemon of User Support: Gotta Catch 'Em All!
November 30, 2001, 2 pm - 4 pm
University of Idaho,

Idaho Commons Building, Horzion-Aurora conference room

On November 30, 2001, a workshop for examining the challenges faced by support professional was presented at University of Idaho. The presenters were Michael Quiner and Rich Hinz from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington.

The 80 attendees were from Washington State University, Eastern Washington University, Lewis Clark State College, and University of Idaho.

This workshop was one of the most direct and "energized" customer service training presentations. In a never-ending attempt to provide only the best customer service possible, this humorous (but direct) presentation accurately portrays the various hoops and hurdles that anyone who works with people encounters in everyday work situations. It was a light-hearted way to "brush-up" on our customer service skills and yet take a moment to appreciate the opportunity to serve the university communities, to recognize the value that is added from our service and to enjoy our work. User support staff need to approach the next situation with a refreshed mind and a good attitude, this presentation offered that type of instruction.

The evaluations indicated high marks for the presenters and useful information for the support staff. The audience could certainly relate to the presentation.
