|· Active Directory Planning & Deployment Workshop, February 7, 2002 ·||NWACC|
On February 7th, 2002, a consortium-sponsored workshop was held at Portland State University. The workshop was attended by 20 technical support staff and administrators from NWACC institutions within the region (6 public large, 12 private small, 1 community college, 1 private org).
Presented by Alan Abrahamson, Microsoft, and Kyle Hewitt, Portland State University, the workshop aimed to address Active Directory planning and deployment issues encountered within academic environments. Day 1 of the workshop was led by Alan Abrahamson of Microsoft and focused on educating the participants on Active Directory concepts, design strategies and common issues. Day 2 (Kyle Hewitt - Server Team Manger at PSU) consisted of a half-day presentation on the Active Directory Migration Project at Portland State University and the challenges/issues that have been encountered through the process.

Evaluation indicated that the workshop met or exceeded expectations for all participants. They found the format of this workshop to be particularly of benefit.
